On Saturday our under 8s had the privilege of running out as mascots for the 1st XV fixture against Anselmians. These are always fantastic events that help showcase the strong bond between our M&J and senior sections and highlight the pathway the club has developed for local rugby players to play a high standard of rugby here in Leek (13 of the day’s 18 man squad have all come through the Leek system). The under 8s enjoyed a tour of the changing rooms, watched (and got involved) in the warm up, and then ran out onto the pitch alongside the 1st team, before grabbing a quick photo with one of their coaches, 1st XV player Rob McDermott. We look forward to seeing some of these young players on a Leek senior team sheet in 2035!
