Leek U17 colts entertained Stoke colts!!

Stoke Colts are a very different opposition to what leek have faced in times past, and who are now coached and drilled by Ex Fijian international with numerous caps under his belt…..who came with a confident mind set, having performed so well in the Burton tournament.

However the game was evenly contested up until the end of the first half’s when both teams went in even 0-0

With the game so evenly contested by two very well coached sides it took an infringement in the Stoke 22 for Ollie Broom to strike a perfect converted penalty through the posts to give Leek a 3-0 lead.
Leek now had the “oh so slightly” upper hand and after some probing pick and carries Leek found themselves again in the Stoke 22 with the advantage of a scrum down..
From the scrum, Ex Stoke player and reject Zac Till took the opportunity to pick up the base of the scrum and “bosh” his way through several attempted tackles to touch down for the first try of the game, Ollie Broom easily converted to give Leek a well earned and hard fort for 10-0 lead.
Stoke being the side they are did not roll over and showing the commitment their coach demands, managed to secure a try within 10 minutes of going behind the conversion was missed but the following game time was contested by both sides to a very high degree of intensity.
However Leek managed to contain Stoke with some resolute defending to secure a 10-5 win that will surely send a strong message to the other teams within the colts league.
