LEEK 3rd XV 61 - 10 STOKE 3rd XV
On Saturday Leek 3rd XV played host to Local rivals Stoke RUFC 3rd XV and after two unsuccessful starts to the season, finally got off the mark with a convincing win against Stoke .
With the return of captain Hicks and the adjustment of certain players, Leek got off to a flying start when Jason Carter returning to outside center was quickly off the mark to run in 2 successive try's within the first 10 mins. With the expert kicking of Alex Thomson at full back Leek looked confident.
However Stoke were not to be intimidated and in quick reply scored two unconverted tries.
With leek having superior numbers to call on and the experience of Robinson & Dunleavey Leek were not to be outplayed, with the try's coming from Sam Booth, Rob Hicks, Dave Dunleavey, Alex Thomson(2), Dave Harvey, another from Jason Carter(3) and the expert kicking of Thomson, Leek recorded their highest winning margin for a long time.
