Leek 2nd XV 36 v 0 Trentham
The side was made up of a combination of youth and experienced senior players as the winning colts players are gradually moved through to senior rugby. Captain, Reaney, started with an experienced pack with the entire backs made up of the colts side This allowed inside centre ,James Floyd, his first start of the season in senior rugby after injury
After a slow start Leeks pack began to dominate which allowed the faster backs to run the ball and continually put the Trentahm side under pressure . Throughout the game Floyd was able to show his ability to run at players and at the same time join up well with his outside centre Matt Scragg
.
After 30 mins, prop Birnie left injured to be replaced by county colts player Hardern. This appeared to give Captain , Reaney ,greater energy has he scored a try from 10 metres out running at pace to the try line
