Leek travelled to Lichfield for a tri tournament including Mansfield. Mansfield were first up and fielded a stronger team than our last encounter. We were a little slow to get going but soon settled with a interception try from Melody Dunn. Captain Holly Fryer showed her pace and skill to score a brace. Leek changed most of the team for the 2nd half and Mansfield came back into the game with 2 good trys. Holly added 2 more trys and Izzy Parry completed the scoring. Leek played a further game against Mansfield and both teams played their least experience players. Ella Weeks and Izzy scored for Leek with Mansfield replying with a good try. Freya Salt was again in blockbusting form with strong runs and setting up the rucks correctly. Katie Mellor stepped up with some crunching tackles assisted by Annabelle Sumner.
Leek started their game against Lichfield with their inexperienced players with a couple of the experienced girls thrown in. I asked Lottie Proctor and Shannon Walchester to help their team mates and led from the front. Lottie had another stormer and Shannon the same who also scored. Abbey Taffe again showed her pace for a fine try Grace Chandler broke the line at will. Ava Carroll Knight showed what a fine player she is and made many line breaks. Izzy and Holly both scored twice to complete the scoring.
