Leek head to Manchester today with a new-look front row and a youthful feel across most of the team.
The trip to Grove Park is the penultimate game of the league season and the lads will be looking for their sixth away win of the season to consolidate a top five finish in Regional 1 North West.
They take on a Manchester side who will be determined to pick up points to avoid an end of season relegation play off. It was a close encounter in December with the Moorlanders running out 29-26 winners.
Oli Powell, 22, captains the side at hooker with Lewis Dunleavy and Elliott Anderson either side of him. Will Midwinter, Oscar Powell and Arvie Birchall all come into the starting lineup. Oli Manifold is on the bench after his brace of tries for the 2s last week.
The 2s name a solid side for the visit of Longton with skipper Andy Thompson and mainstay Harry Evans leading things from the boiler room. A radical back row reshuffle sees Kin Critchlow named on the openside alongside Isaac Laing and Naz Narawa.
The clubhouse will be open from midday as we welcome our past captains for their annual lunch and our past players for a pre match buffet.
A big thank you to Mark Edge and friends for sponsoring the game and to our under 10s Titans who will be matchday mascots.
Please get down and support the lads home and away!
