Leek rugby recently welcomed sides from across the county to Altrad Park for the Staffordshire Under 8s Festival.
With Altrad Park bathed in glorious spring sunshine no fewer than 19 sides from 12 different clubs took to the field to compete in their last festival of tag rugby.
The standard of rugby on show was excellent with boys and girls showing fleet of foot, great support play and determined tagging.
With an odd number of teams on the day the organisers put together a Festival Barbarians team made up of one player from each team who best displayed rugby’s core values on the day. The BaaBaas took on a Leek side with everyone watching on which was a thrill for all players involved.
Our three Leek teams, the Falcons, Dragons and Tigers, all put on excellent displays showing how they have developed as tag players over the last two seasons.
With close to 200 players involved on the day the club and its volunteers worked tirelessly to put on a good show with everything running smoothly and some great feedback received from visiting clubs.
