Leek look to start the new season with a trophy tomorrow (Saturday 12 September) when they travel to Stafford to face Burton in in the Staffordshire County Cup final. It's a 4pm kick off at Blackberry Lane.

The Moorlanders will look to go one better than last season, when they lost the final to the same opponents.

It’s a first run out for the side before the league campaign starts, in what we hope will be another strong season at Level 5 and with the teams able to field a squad of 23 players, there'll be a chance for an extended group to show what they can do.

It's a familiar looking front five with Ton Hayes and the evergreen Joel Booth behind Lewis Dunleavy, Oli Powell and skipper Joe Newton-Taylor. The back row combines the wise old head of George Hunt with young tyros Connor Bassett and Oscar Powell.

James Milan and Scott Rawlings are paired at half back, with guile, power and pace in the backs from Same Brereton, Joe Gorman, Will Midwinter, Jack Newton-Taylor and Joe Byrne.

There are some new faces alongside some familiar names on the bench, which includes Lee Williams, Nick Butters, Greg Hayes, Jack Bray, Harrison Bradley, Joe Garner, Josh Nadin and Alex Fitzmaurice-James.

The lads would love to see the Leek faithful packing the touchline to cheer them on. Go well boys!
