Our 1st and 3rd XV’s wrap up their league seasons with home fixtures this afternoon, while our 2s hit the road with three games left to play.
The 1s welcome Bowdon to St Edward’s Park and name a strong line up aiming to close the season out with a win to consolidate their fantastic, best-ever top half finish.
Skipper Joe Newton-Taylor returns to the side and is joined by player-coach Andy Appleyard who adds his experience at 10, lock Oli Manifold starts in the second row following an impressive cameo off the bench last time out.
The 2s name a youthful looking side for the trip south to Bridgnorth. Isaac Laing and Tommy Goulding continue in the back row after impressive recent performances for the 2s and they are joined by more Academy graduates including Freddie Peck who will make his senior debut in the centres.
And our 3s name a strong looking squad of 20 players as they aim to close out their season with maximum points in the early kick off.
The clubhouse will be open from 1pm as we welcome our sponsors ahead of the 1XV game. A big thank you to all those sponsors who help to support our community club.
Our under 9s will be mascots for the day and we welcome VDL Vehicle Solutions as match day sponsors, Leek Building Society as match ball sponsors and Fit Bodies Gym as our nutrition sponsors.
During the game we will be hosting an outside bar and our friends from High Peak Hog Roast will be firing up the grills!
Then, post-match, Sinini Ngwenya will lead us off with some reggae classics as we celebrate two very successful league seasons for our 1s and 3s.
We look forward to seeing as many of your as possible com down to enjoy the day and back the boys.
