It was a tough afternoon for our three senior sides yesterday, with results going against us at home and away on a very wet and windy day.

At St Edward's Park, league leaders Anselmians maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a 10-40 win over Leek 1s. The silver lining for the hosts was the return after injury of talismanic vice-captain Will Midwinter, who scored all of his side's points.

At Ludlow, Leek 2s held unbeated Clee Hill to a 5-3 lead at half-time. But three yellow cards didn't help as the Blues succumbed in the second half, losing 38-8.

And Leek's woeful day continued as the 3rd XV lost 45-16 at Ashton-under-Lyne 2s.

A big thank you to everyone who pulled on a Leek shirt, braved the wet touchlines or helped behind the scenes. Days like these make your support all the more appreciated.

Time to dry out, regroup and go again together.
