Congratulations to Leek Lightning player Josie who this season has headed to Brooksby Melton College to join their rugby programme while studying sports science.

The college has strong links with nearby Leicester Tigers and has become a key focus in their rugby talent identification and development programme.

Josie has risen through the ranks at Leek, gaining county honours along the way and most recently captaining the Staffordshire u16s side. She can also be seen most Sunday mornings helping to coach our didi stars of the future.

Despite an unfortunate early injury we are all confident that Josie will relish the new challenge at Brooksby and we look forward to seeing her rugby career develop. Best of luck from all at Leek!
