The team entered league competition for the first time in their history this season, competing in the NOWIRUL Last Drop Division 5 against several 1XV and 2XVs across the North West.

Under the leadership of skipper James Allcock and his vice captains Neil Edge and Tom Grindey, the squad recorded 17 wins, one draw and four losses as they finished level on points at the top of the table with Marple 2nds.

They narrowly missed out on winning the title on points difference but their efforts mean they are promoted and will move to Division 4 of the league structure next season.

A tremendous effort by all those involved as a core squad of 15 or so players were regularly training on Thursday nights and a wider squad of over 80 players took to the field, including some of our youngest and oldest registered players.

It's fantastic to see the true spirit of social rugby going from strength to strength at our club.
