Congratulations to our high-flying thirds, who had their promotion from NOWIRUL Division 5 confirmed at the annual awards event on Friday night.

Skipper James Allcock, along with his vice captains Neil Edge and Tom Grindey and a host of the squad, were there to collect their award.

In their first season since switching to the North West leagues the side have gone from strength to strength, relishing the demands of regular league rugby. In the end they finished joint-top on 93 league points with Marple 2s only losing out on first place on points difference.

James and the team can be rightly proud of a playing record of 17 wins, one draw and only four losses, playing several 1st and 2nd XVs along the way.

As other clubs struggle to put out multiple sides it’s fantastic to see our 3s thriving! Congratulations guys from all at the club.
