A Combined Leek U 12 – U13 Team took on Eccleshall on a beautiful Sunday morning. The Referee Mr Phil Mackey and the Leek and Eccleshall Coaches decided as the weather was so hot the game would be played in four Quarters with twelve and a half minutes in each. As there were too many players for the game, the lads were regularly changed and it gave it a tournament atmosphere. Leek players also helped to swell the numbers for Eccleshall.

The game played in great spirits and both players and spectators enjoyed the match which was equally contested on both sides with some very good play from both forwards and backs. The Eccleshall team however edged the game with an unconverted try. The Leek scorers were Ryan Stickland, and debut player Matt Titterton. Leeks man of the match was awarded to Liam Robinson.

The Leek season is coming to the end with one last game away to Marple for the U13’s and The Matlock Festival for the U12’s. We are hoping for a full turn out for both of these important matches to end the season in great style.
