We’re delighted to confirm that Oli Powell, Will Midwinter and Joe Byrne will continue as both players and academy coaches for the upcoming season.

The three talented young players have been among the driving forces behind the rise of our 1XV in recent years and remain key figures on the pitch, while continuing their off-field contribution in their Academy coaching roles.

Having come through the club mini and junior system themselves, they’re perfectly placed to help develop the next generation of players and strengthen the pathway from academy rugby into our senior teams.

The impact of that work is already clear to see, with double figures of Academy players making the step up into senior rugby last season.

Pre-season gets underway on Tuesday 30 June with a full squad meeting followed by the first training session of the summer.
