Converted centre Joe Gorman was at the forefront of all that was good in the 1st XV's so near but yet so far effort at Stoke on Saturday, and scooped the Ken Jervis Kia player of the match. Joe is kindly sponsored by D McCarthy Brothers.

For the 3s, recent recruit Matt McLaughlin was the standout player in their friendly with Sandbach. And, for the Colts side, back rower Rory shone brightest of our young stars in what was a stellar performance for the Leek side.
