Firsts host Bowdon in league finale

Firsts host Bowdon in league finale

Graham Leftwich9 Apr - 08:19

2s at Bridgnorth, 3s play Spartans, hog roast and reggae

Our 1XV play their final league game of the season as they welcome Bowdon to St Edward's Park on Saturday.

The blue and whites will be looking to close their best ever season with a win and tee themselves up for the approaching County Cup Final while the visitors need points on the board to help avoid a relegation playoff.

The Moorlanders won the return fixture in a high-scoring game to open the season in September and the expected bumper crowd will hope for more of the same in the 3pm kick off.

Our 2s, fresh off the back of a morale-boosting win over Longton last time out, make the journey south to take on Bridgnorth. The Bulls claimed a big win at St Edward's Park in December so it's another tough match ahead for Andy Thompson's men.

Also at home, our 3s will go in search of a win over Manchester Village Spartans that could secure them promotion at the first time of asking in their NOWIRUL league. Kick off on the top pitch is at 2pm.

The day will open with our sponsors thank you event as we welcome and thank our club sponsors for their support this season.

Our under 9s will run out as mascots with their heroes in the 1st XV and, as we cheer them on, our friends from High Peak Hog Roast will fire up the grill alongside our outside bar. Post match we will be joined by the amazing Sinini Ngwenya for an evening of reggae classics.

Big thanks as always to our matchday sponsors VDL Vehicle Solutions, match ball sponsors Leek Building Society and nutrition sponsors Fit Bodies Gym.
