County loss draws season to a close

County loss draws season to a close

Graham Leftwich8 Jun - 08:57

Congratulations to all those who represented Staffs

Staffordshire's narrow defeat to Devon in the Bill Beaumont County Championship finally draws the 2024/25 season to a close for Leek rugby.

The green and whites went down 27-20 at Ivybridge, having led early in the game. Devon go on to face Cheshire in the Division 2 final at Twickenham.

Congratulations to all of the Leek players who represented the county this season. Pictured are Tom Hayes, director or rugby Andy Appleyard, Oli Powell, and Leek club president John McDermott at Ivybridge RFC.

Also donning the Green & White of the county 1st XV this season were Will Midwinter, Lewis Dunleavy and Joel Hine.

Four more Moorlanders - Brenig Hughes, Noah Reaney, Josh Nadin and Billy Kidd - represented Staffordshire A and were part of the county training squad.

Having nine Leek players playing representative rugby is a real achievement and testament to the level that the club has reached.

Well done everyone, enjoy the rest and we’ll see you soon for pre-season!
