The new Leek Rugby Club clubhouse extension will be open for business for the first time this weekend as our 3rd XV host Knutsford and the Lightning under 16s girls take on Derbyshire Dragons in the National Cup.
The balcony gives a birds eye view of the pitch with a shelf to put your drinks - in plastic glasses only, please - with a covered terrace below.
And as we come to the conclusion of phase one of the extension works, the club is pleased to announce it has instructed project managers Forte Architecture to submit planning for phase two for an additional balcony lounge.
Planning permission for the next phase is not expected till early 2027, and in the meantime we will follow the same process as phase one and obtain relevant tenders and then make an informed decisions to ensure we deliver within our aim and budget.
The intention is to design and build the balcony lounge with an expected delivery date Spring 2027 .
The new outside bar and hot drinks unit has been delivered to site and is now being fitted out with the aim to have draft beers and drinks plus hot drinks and a warm pies in the coming weeks .
Thank you to all who have supported these improvements, which is in addition to our kitchen, storage, electrical and pitch upgrades over the past few years, aimed at supporting our on-field playing for all sections and the future of the club.
