Leek 1st XV maintained their perfect away record this season in an epic battle at Rochdale, running out 34-43 winners.
The blue and whites sit proudly in fourth place in Regional 1 North West with 17 points from five games - 17 more than we secured at the same point last season.
George Hunt got the Moorlanders on the board early and, in a highly competitive game, they never surrendered the lead. Further tries from Alex Fitzmaurice-James, with a brace from full back, Josh Nadin, Sam Brereton and Joe Byrne secured the bonus point win.
Five conversions and a penalty from 100-cap man Will Midwinter ensured Leek stayed ahead, even though the hosts managed five tries of their own.
Our 2nd XV had a tough day at the office away at a strong Ashbourne 1st XV, losing 54-12. The hosts were ruthless, converting every chance that came their way, but were aided by a strangely lacklustre, error-strewn performance from Andy Thompson's men.
The blue and whites had plenty of possession, but tries from Jay Wilkinson and Connor Bassett, with a Jack Winfield conversion, were simply not enough to counter the eight tries from the hosts.
Our 3rd XV capped things off with a cracking 21-46 win up at Stockport.
Well done to all those who donned the jersey today. Thanks, as always, to our opponents, officials, supporters, volunteers and sponsors.
