Today’s game against Macclesfield marks a 100th 1st team appearance in competitive fixtures for electric winger Sam Brereton.

First joining the senior section after the Covid lockdown, Sam's versatility saw him play both on the wing and at scrum half for the first team as he helped them climb up the rugby pyramid.

Now in a fourth season at Level 5, Sam made the number 11 shirt his own with a series of standout, try-scoring performances.

A product of the club's mini and junior section, Sam grew up alongside teammates such as Will Midwinter, Joel Hine, Jay Wilkinson and Sam Lloyd, 1st XV players all.

Ferocious in defence and a workhorse in attack, Sam has provided us with moments of excitement over the years. We wish him well in today’s game, and hope to see him on the field for hundreds more to come.
