The game started evenly enough with Leek putting the first points on the board courtesy of Tom Fairhurst with the 1st of his 4 try's which earned him Leek's MoM.
However Handford quickly brought the score level and then just as quickly took the lead fortunately for Leek the extras were not added.
With the experienced Dan Needham ( returning from injury) pulling the strings at scrum half it wasn't long before Leek had brought the score back to level and taken a healthy lead going into half time. The 2nd half was much the same as the 1st with Leek using the wall lane pitch's slope to their advantage and running in a further 6 try's.
To Handford's credit they persevered for most of the game but players having to retire injured and even with the help of loaned players from Leek the game was way beyond salvaging. Try's from
Fairhurst (4) Needham (2) Barker, Laverick, Carter, Titley, Skinner and A.Smith with 7 conversion from Hicks, enabled Leek to register their biggest win of season to date.
Capt' Hicks added, when you are able to call on someone as experienced as Dan Needham to add to your team, it in turn brings out the best in others and today it showed, the quickness in our play and the organisation Dan brought was a pleasure to see.
