Leek lent Whitchurch 2 players to make the game a fairer contest but this didn’t stop Leek scoring 13 tries and converting 8. Leek scored 3 early tries and then used the remainder of the game to work on shape and discipline. Dan Sharratt and Tom Laverick both scored hat tricks, although Dan’s was more impressive as he spent the second half playing in the red of Whitchurch.
Other tries came from Paul O’Dell, Lucas Buxton, Reece Milner, Nick Thompson and Tom Fairhurst whilst captain Neil Edge scored a brace. Joe Cooper looked to get in on the act but for a sublime tackle by Man of the Match, Dan Sharratt. Isaac Reaney kept his kicking form scoring 7 out 8 conversions before playing for Whitchurch in the second half. Jack Winfield scored the other conversion on only his second appearance for Leek’s second string. Other notable appearances came from Jason Milner who played his first game along side son, Reece, Lucas Buxton played at full back and Ryan Day made his 2nd team debut.
