Leek Under 18 girls win Rochdale festival

Leek travelled to Rochdale to take part in their festival. Our first game was against our old friends West Park. This was our best performance of the day and we dominated territory to be met with ferocious tackling. Our breakdown in both attack and defence was the best of the season and constant phase play resulted in a fine try from 5 yards by Abby.
Our next game was against a strong Eccles side. This was a weird performance allowing 2 trys from long range through missed tackles. We fought back from with a try from Jenny and an interception try from Holly. This was a game we could have won but tackling wins matches!!
Our final game was against our old foe Old Crocs. We started strongly with Jenny crashing over. A strange sequence of events led to an unopposed try for Old Crocs only for our pack to produce phase after phase allowing Jenny to cut through and score the winner.
Katie was man of the match performing her normal non stop display. She is so important to how we play but sometimes does not get the praise she deserves. Charlie had a stormer and India showed more and more improvement.
Well done girls but lots more work to do if we want to be the team we want to be.
