Great Under 15 girls form continues

Leek welcomed Winnington Park and played in front of a large crowd. From the kick off Holly fielded the ball and her pace was too much for Winnington and she scored under the posts for a try which she then converted. Leek's tight five were punching holes in the Winnington defence and setting up good phase ball but the link to the backs was overcrowded and Leek failed to get hold of the game. Maddie, who ran strongly all day, smashed her way over in the corner for her first try. The girls were overjoyed for this popular player who value her work for the team. Holly then scored again under the posts with Morgan adding another for a 24-0 half time score line. Steve Mellor and Dave Parry then sorted out the link between the forwards and backs and Leek then started to dominate the game. Quick forward ball allowed Izzy to move the ball with Morgan joining the backs to score a great team try. Izzy was revelling in the 10 role and made a superb outside break to score under the posts. Leek then scored a stunner. From our own 10 yard line scrum, Dunny picked up and put in a deft kick with Holly outsprinting the Winnington defence to catch the ball on the bounce to score under the posts. This was a planned move by the girls brilliantly executed. Izzy then completed the scoring with a carbon copy of her first try to finish the game 55-5. Credit must go to Winnington who never stopped trying. They scored a fine try of their own and are clearly a team on the up. Daisy and Holly Hartley made their debuts and already look at home in the team. Lucy made her home debut and again had a stormer. Well done to all.
