Burton come out on top in girls Under 15 clash

Our good friends from Burton arrived at Leek to play in front of a large crowd. Burton made some tactical positional changes and we also started some girls in new positions. Leek started well with Holly scoring a fantastic individual try which she converted. Burton then started to control the game with aggressive running met with some meek tackling. Burton scored twice and took a well deserved lead before Morgan rounded their defence to score with the game level at half time. Burton then scored a quick tap and go try with our girls not paying attention to the game situation, This try was converted and Burton looked good for their lead. Another try from Burton then set up a fantastic last 15 minutes which Leek swarmed over Burton with Jenny scoring. Leek continued to lose their ruck ball at will and dispite their efforts could not break a resilient defence. Burton were worthy winners and frankly wanted it more. A majority of the Leek side forgot how to tackle and ruck properly leaving the work to other players who in turn could not help in attack. Not our finest moment girls!!
