Leek welcomed Littleborough on a lovely Sunday afternoon. Many people had stayed behind to support the girls and this was greatly appreciated.
Littleborough started strongly and immediately put Leek under pressure will only some try saving tackles from Holly preventing an early lead. More pressure from Littleborough saw them deservedly take the lead. Leek responded with a super blind side move with Holly putting Izzy away for her to run 50 metres to score. Leek started to dominate the scrums and another fine run from Holly doubled the lead with herself converting both trys. Danielle, Keira and Katie were bossing the front row with Sammy and Lottie supporting from the engine room. Kara and her sister Shannon were causing havoc in the loose and good ball allowed captain Jenny to put Izzy away for another 50 metre run in. Littleborough continued to cause Leek problems with strong fast runners resulting in two further trys. Jenny capped off a fine captains display with a lovely individual try. Holly scored again to put the result in safe hands leaving the final try to be scored by our very popular Lottie. Abby and Molly tackled and ran well with Dunny running the show as usual. Grace was spot on in her game and our three debutants India, Millie and Tess all had stormers. Danielle deserves a special mention with her aggression leading the way for a good all round performance from the team. Izzy has a nasty leg injury and we wish her well for a speedy recovery. Big thanks to Littleborough for travelling such a long distance and a big thanks to Danny and also Pete Taylor for refereeing.
