The 3 Shires u14s, including girls from Leek, Longton, Buxton and Congleton, pulled off a great win in their season finale game against county cup finalists Lichfield.

Altrad Park was bathed in sunshine as Lichfield took an early lead. 3S responded well with play pushed into the Lichfield end Brooke to score, Celia converting.

A scrum won and a deep kick from Celia saw a try scored from the wing by Ruby supported by Cora. 3S took a third try after some hard play, Celia scoring and converting to make the half time score 19-10.

Lichfield again got off to a good start with an early try, but 3S came back and demonstrated great team work, all girls pulling together with a try and conversion.

Lichfield scored again to bring the score closer but didn’t convert. Great team work, saw another try and conversion followed by a further 3S score from some exceptional passing play.

The last five minutes saw some great girls rugby, both sides getting stuck in for a great match. Some fantastic performances across both teams - final score 40-29.

3S coach, Paddy Lawlor said, “Amazing performance today girls well done everyone".
